Outsourcing - Manager


Summary

This three-day intensive course enables participants to develop the necessary expertise to support an organization in outsourcing its activities based on ISO/IEC 37500. Participants will gain a thorough understanding of how to enter into, and continue to sustain, successful outsourcing arrangements throughout the contractual period. The training covers the entire outsourcing lifecycle and provides a framework which specifies a common outsourcing terminology, defines the actors and their roles in outsourcing lifecycle and governance, provides an industry generic foundation which can be tailored to suit sector specific requirements, describes the processes necessary to fit the outsourcing strategy and aims to enable mutually beneficial collaborative relationships.

Day 1: Fundamental Outsourcing Principles and Outsourcing Governance

Day 2: The Procurement Lifecycle from Requirements to Supplier Registration

  • Implementing the transition and transformation plan

Day 3: The Procurement Lifecycle from Monitoring Through to Termination

  • Transition of knowledge, people, process and technology
  • Measuring, monitoring, and evaluating the delivery value
  • Exit, termination and migration of an outsourcing agreement
  • Competence and evaluation of outsourcing managers
  • Certification Exam

 

 

Prerequisites

Knowledge on Outsourcing and ISO/IEC 37500 e is preferred.

Educational approach

  • This training is based on both, theory and practice:
    - Sessions of lectures illustrated with examples based on real cases
    - Practical exercises
    - Review exercises to assist the exam preparation
    - Practice test similar to the certification exam

Examination and Certification

  • The “PECB Certified Outsourcing Manager” exam fully meets the requirements of the PECB Examination and Certification Program (ECP). The exam covers the following competence domains:

    - Domain 1: Fundamental principles and concepts in Outsourcing Management
    - Domain 2: Outsourcing best practices based on industry standards
    - Domain 3: Designing and developing an outsource governance framework
    - Domain 4: Procurement lifecycle for Outsourcing (initiation through to termination)

  • The “PECB Certified Outsourcing Manager” exam is available in different languages (the complete list of languages can be found in the examination application form)
  • Duration: 2 hours

  • After successfully completing the “PECB Certified Outsourcing Manager” exam, participants can apply for the credentials of PECB Certified Provisional Outsourcing Manager or PECB Certified Outsourcing Manager, depending on their level of experience
  • A certificate will be issued to the participants who successfully pass the exam and comply with all the other requirements related to the selected credential

General information

  • Exam and certification fees are included in the training price
  • A student manual containing over 350 pages of information and practical examples will be distributed to the participants
  • A participation certificate of 21 CPD (Continuing Professional Development) credits will be issued to the participants
  • In case of failure of an exam, the participants are allowed to retake the exam for free under certain conditions
