Pre-requisites
There is no formal prerequisite for this ISACA Cobit 5 course, but it is recommended that the participants have some experience in the IT Governance Domain.
ISACA
ISACA got its start in 1967 by a small group of individuals with similar jobs auditing controls in computer systems that were becoming more critical to their organizations’ operations. This group saw the need for a centralized source of information and guidance in the field and formalized in 1969, incorporating as the EDP Auditors Association. In 1976 the association formed an education foundation to undertake large-scale research efforts to expand the knowledge and value of the IT governance and control field. Previously known as the Information Systems Audit and Control Association®, ISACA now goes only by its acronym to reflect the broad range of IT governance professionals we serve.

Membership Cost
Total membership fees consist of International Dues + Local Chapter Dues + New Member Fee. Australian membership dues payments will include an additional 10% for GST. Local chapter dues vary by location; see below for a current listing. The new member fee is US$30.00 if you mail or fax your member application and US$10.00 if you join online. Membership in the association requires joining both the international association and a local chapter when residing or working within its territory.

Exam and Certification
The COBIT Foundation Certificate Exam ensures that you understand:
- How to align IT goals with strategic business objectives using tools designed to give governance a wider perspective, and practitioners more flexibility.
- The value derived from IT, necessary resources, and potential risks in the process of building a mature relationship between the business and IT.
- The different types of IT governance frameworks such as ITIL, NIST etc., including the benefits of each and how they work.
Now Take the Exam
Schedule and take the COBIT Foundation Certificate Exam online on your own time. The closed-book, remotely proctored exam covers eight domains and includes 75 questions. The number of questions in each domain is based upon the domain’s assigned weight. The chart below details domains and the weight assigned to each.
What’s in the exam?
Candidates will explore COBIT concepts, principles and methodologies used to establish, enhance, and maintain a system for effective governance and management of enterprise information technology. The exam will test a candidate’s understanding of those topics. Individuals who achieve a passing score on the ISACA COBIT 5 2019 Foundation exam will receive the ISACA COBIT 5 2019 Foundation Certificate.
Exam-takers will be given two hours (120 minutes) to complete the exam. Each multiple-choice question has three options with only one correct answer.
